“My family and I went to el Yunque on our last days there and honestly we should have taken this tour in the beginning of the week! They truly make you feel like they’ve known you for years! And our safety is always secured! We got a feel for not only the rainforest but for the pueblitos around the yunque. I got emotional as we were leaving, haha. “I needed to let you guys know, if you EVER need a driver or someone to take you on tours please go with this company!! She was the highlight of our trip. She picked us up from the Ceiba ferry to take my group and i to the airport. she stopped MANY times for us to get fresh fruit, meet some locals, get lunch & get souvenirs at a shop. She was so knowledgeable and so much fun. sweetest person we’ve been this whole trip and I’m just sad we didn’t get more time with her. If you need a driver” -seriously get with her! “We booked H and J Island Adventures for our transportation from the airport to Rio Grande. I could tell quickly with Heidi’s great communication prior to our trip that we would get along great! They were on time, provided snacks and even ended up taking us to lunch before our hotel check in. During lunch, we planned our rainforest tour with them a couple days later. Our hotel pickup for the rainforest tour was at 6:30am and we were the FIRST group in to the rainforest that day. The first hour of the tour, we were the only ones there and our kids were able to jump off the cliffs multiple times, climb to the water slides and even hike up to the highest point for cliff diving. They took our safety as their #1 concern and communicated with us what to expect, what type of shoes and clothing to wear. They also provided life jackets which is VERY important for the rainforest activities! Heidi also delivered groceries to our hotel and offered many dinner recommendations. We arrived in Puerto Rico with pre-arranged hotel transportation and we are leaving with great friends!!!! I can’t recommend H and J Tours enough!!!! They go out of their way to ensure a great customer experience and knowledge of the island!!! We love you guys!!!

“Yesterday was one for the books. We took a private tour with H and J island adventures to the El Yunque Rainforest. It was spectacular. We hiked through amazing terrain. Learned about the plants and balance of the forest. We met a Sato that followed us to the waterfalls. Named bingo by the locals, he was a cool dog. We got to experience the natural water slide. That was fun as hell! Video below. Then we did a 30 foot cliff jump and played on the rope swing for a bit. After they took us to some local spots to pick up lunch that we ate in front of a beautiful ocean view. Stopped at a bar for some rum cocktails. So good. We stopped and got some fresh cooled coconuts from a local. Hands down the best I’ve had. Talk about refreshing!! Heidi and Jose did a remarkable job and treated us like family. If you ever go to Puerto Rico I highly recommend H and J. I’ve saved their contact info so I can share with friends. 10/10 experience.

“This morning my husband and I went on a rainforest adventure with H & J Island Adventures. Heidi welcomed us in the morning with a delicious breakfast and Ponce took us on an adventure we would never forget. We were given a private hiking tour of a portion of El Yunque Rainforest. Ponce educated us on the area and the type of plants in the rainforest. He was so patient with us as we hiked through the muddy hills and rocks. I started off nervous of what we were going to get into, but left so exhilarated and proud of what we accomplished. If you’re looking for an adventure, don’t hesitate to contact Heidi! “Where do I start.. this was the high light of our Anniversary trip.. AMAZING COUPLE.. made reservations last minute and they still booked us… stop and got the best tasting breakfast.. fire!! “Where do I even begin! Heidi and Ponce are the most selfless people I know. When you hire them, you’re money goes back into the community. My sister and I did the muddy rainforest tour and it was amazing!!! Since I’m partially blind, I didn’t even think I would be able to experience the rainforest but Heidi and Ponce said let us take care of you. They were extremely patient with me the entire way. They truly care about their client’s safety. Along the way I saw other tour groups with people slipping and falling because their tour guide honestly didn’t care about them. Heidi and Ponce helped several people along the way even though they weren’t their clients. If you don’t book a tour with them, you are missing out!!! We left Puerto Rico with nothing but a good experience thanks to these amazing human beings.
